THE SECOND LIFE OF PLASTIC THE NEW RAW
In recent years, politics and the business world have gradually embraced the realisation that in the face of
dwindling resources, a circular economy is the only answer to sustainable commerce. However, truly consistent recycling processes are often still at the experimental stage. Since 2015, the Rotterdam based architect couple Panos Sakkas and Foteini Setaki have been working on processes to transform plastic waste into useful and beautiful products that are 100 % circular. With the help of computers, printing processes and industrial robots, the studio produces furniture and wall sculptures that combine the typical wit of Dutch design with a high degree of meaningfulness and an optimised eco footprint.
